Customized user signature question

I'm not sure why, but Anohthterwikipedian has customized part of their signature to be displayed in white. Given that the default background for Commons seems to be white, this essentially makes the link to their user talk page invisible. On English Wikipedia, for example, such a thing would kind of be frowned up per en:WP:CUSTOMSIG/P, and it also seems like this kind of thing is probably not ideal per COM:SIGN#Rules on customized signatures. FWIW, their signature seems pretty standard here; so, the change seems to have been made recently. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:13, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Report of possible sabotage

@GoldenJDM This does not change the fact that your uploads contain copyright violations. Understanding Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects is not difficult and does not necessarily require long experience or a high number of contributions.

@AndisheyAzad This discussion is not about the quality of my contributions, but rather about your editing patterns and the possibility of using an alternate account. Bringing up my uploads here—especially considering you previously tagged some of my images for speedy deletion—can be seen as an attempt to divert attention from the main issue. Please stay focused on the original concern.

 Not done I see no evidence of sabotage or sockpuppetry. It is not remotely suspicious for a user with >1,000 contributions on other projects to understand basic tools on Commons. I would just like to kindly point out that in the case of Dot One tower image deletion request, the file was awaiting permission via VRT from the company. According to Commons guidelines, such images should not be deleted before the designated waiting period has passed. I believe this may have been removed prematurely. 1. Nothing on the file page indicated that it was awaiting VRT permission.
2. If VRT is in process, then the deletion is relatively harmless; the file will be restored when the VRT process successfully completes.

This is a space for the Wikimedia Commons community. English often gets used as the most common interlanguage, but users are free to post in whatever languages they are comfortable in, and posting in English and their native tongue, like AndisheyAzad, is perfectly acceptable and reasonable if one is not entirely comfortable with their command of English.--Prosfilaes (talk) 22:00, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

File name switch needed

Mass election map rename requests are back

There are now 150+ more of these criterion 4 rename requests in Category:Media requiring renaming from Thomascampbell123. I declined several hundred of these a few weeks ago from this user. I posted about this here when there were 600+ of these requests and Jmabel responded saying they wouldn't do these moves themselves, hence my declining. There will probably be several hundred more requests. No other filemovers or admins have wanted to do these. Can admins please take a look at this? As I've said before to Thomascampbell123, he is welcome to create (or get together a group of people to create) a set of U.S. House of Representative maps using uniform color, a consistent naming scheme, etc.; he is welcome to work with other uploaders to get them to move toward a more uniform naming scheme; he is not welcome to unilaterally rename other uploaders' files that would normally be considered appropriately named to make them fit a pattern of his own devising. - Jmabel ! talk 02:44, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
