Commons:Cross-wiki media upload tool
The Cross-wiki media upload tool is an upload tool which allows the remote upload of files from any Wikimedia wiki to Wikimedia Commons. It is integrated into VisualEditor and wikitext editor on the sister projects of Wikimedia Commons. Uploaded files are tagged in the recent changes and the logs as Cross-wiki upload.

See also: Commons:Cross-wiki media upload tool/History. MediaWiki 1.27 started supporting the cross-wiki upload tool in 2016.
Before 2019, the Multimedia team in the Reading department at the Wikimedia Foundation was responsible for maintaining the tool. Since then, the tool is not in active development.
