English: "Tracy's Rock" (Split Rock), part of station 6 panorama by Apollo 17 commander Eugene A. Cernan on December 13, 1972 during the third EVA at the Taurus-Littrow landing site. Scientist-astronaut Harrison H. Schmitt is moving behind the boulder at left and the Lunar Roving Vehicle is parked to the right.)

NASA Caption: AS17-140-21493 + AS17-140-21497 (13 December 1972) ― Scientist-astronaut Harrison H. Schmitt is photographed standing next to a huge, split lunar boulder during the third Apollo 17 Extravehicular Activity (EVA-3) at the Taurus-Littrow landing site. Schmitt is the Apollo 17 lunar module pilot. The Apollo 17 Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) is parked to the right of the boulder. This picture was taken by astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, mission commander. While Cernan and Schmitt descended in the Lunar Module (LM) "Challenger" to explore the lunar surface, astronaut Ronald E. Evans, command module pilot, remained with the Apollo 17 Command and Service Modules (CSM) "America" in lunar-orbit.

A similar mosaic was used in Figure 4-28 of the Apollo 17 Preliminary Science Report (SP-330, 1973), which has the following caption:

The massive, broken boulder at station 6 is shown in this composite photograph. Scoop marks in the debris on the side of the boulder mark the location of a sample collected by the LMP. The boulder is a breccia, a rock composed of fragments of other rocks. The LRV, with the antenna pointed toward Earth, is parked to the right of the boulder. South Massif, 8 km distant, forms the right half of the skyline; East Massif forms the left half.
