Description
English: This image of the Orion Nebula is taken in an exotic palette that maps near infrared data to the red image channel, [S II] emission to the green image channel, and [O III] emission to the blue image channel. Continuum sources, such as stars and the central reflection nebulosity in the Trapezium, show up in reddish hues. Narrowband emissions from fluorescing gas in the nebula show up in green and blue.

Mount: Sky-Watcher Wave 150i (strain wave German equatorial mount)

Telescope: Apertura CarbonStar RC8 (Ritchey–Chrétien telescope, 203 mm aperture, 1624 mm focal length, no reducer or flattener)

Camera: Touptek ATR533M (IMX533 monochrome sensor)

Filters:

  • SVBONY SV183 685 nm IR pass filter (30×30s)
  • Touptek S-II (15×60s)
  • Touptek O-III (15×60s)

Software: NINA, SIRIL
