[edit]Both images were tagged with no-permissions by @User:Didym. In this discussion on village pump the uploader User:Schumi4ever cites this document (§ 313.4(A)) where it says: "A toy model that is an exact replica of an automobile, airplane, train, or other useful article where no creative expression has been added to the existing design" is not eligible for copyright protection in the United States. He also says that these two pictures are more or less exact replicas of these Audi TT DTM, Audi Quattro & Lancia 037. Unfortunately the original no-permission tagger Didym did not reply to our pings if that is sufficient, therefore I convert the no-permission tag into a regular deletion request. Maybe in the course of the deletion request you, Schumi4ever, can expand a bit on the issue if it is an exact replica or where the differences are. Your phrasing ("more or less") leaves that open to some degree.

- Apart from what @Isderion has stated, I have also found this article in Spanish which states that SCX, the manufacturer, should not pay royalties to Red Bull for using their logotypes, as the toys are merely a representation of real life objects. Well, in these cases, the toys cars I have uploaded are "more or less" (Which I will explain in a moment) replicas of these real life cars: File:DTM 2004.jpg, File:Audi Quattro Rally.jpg and File:Lancia 037 AMI 2006.JPG or, if you prefer external links:
- These replicas may not be 100% exact replicas. Why? The "more or less" part consists in the fact that, as 1:32 scale representations of 4 metre objects, some tiny details may be missing, like already small logotypes or features on the bodywork. Plus, the scale may be off at some points, or some deformations may have been practised for the sake of the mechanicals inside the model, or colours do not perfectly match, possibly affected by the years. Furthermore, there may be some differences in the liveries of the cars due to the fact of different drivers with different racing numbers, or sponsors coming in and out at different races and finding the exact photograph will prove to be difficult. Yes, this toy manufacturer has released some cars with "made up" decorations, but these three are not the case. Only in the case of the Audi TT, there is an extra logo at the corner of the windshield with the name "Scalextric", the commercial brand, but it is simply white text and, as such, there is no art related. Some other products show a very evident lesser quality but still are, in the end, replicas of real life cars.
- In case I finally need to contact SCX to ask for permission, please tell me if a generic permission for all their products will do or we require a detailed permission for every single toy.
- And I know this is not about Hey!, What about X picture? but we will need to check every single model car photo already in Commons.--JJ - Schumi4ever (talk) 07:29, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
